History
In 1987, Vergara’s Agricultural and Poultry Supply opened its doors to the public, starting as a modest 1,000 square meter store in the bustling public market of Dinalupihan, Bataan. Managed by the dynamic husband and wife duo, Mr. and Mrs. Reynaldo D. Vergara, the store initially focused on agricultural and poultry supplies. However, the growing demand for grocery items prompted the couple to venture into the grocery business.
The first few years posed significant challenges, as the concept of self-service shopping was unfamiliar to the local community. Despite numerous hurdles, fueled by the spirit of entrepreneurship prevalent in the 1980s, the couple persisted and weathered the storm.
The 1990s heralded a period of unprecedented growth and opportunity. Building on the overwhelming success of Vergara’s Supermarket, RL Vercons Merchants Corporation was born. With passing years, new branches were inaugurated, solidifying the corporation’s presence in the retail landscape.
Today, RL Vercons Merchants Corporation stands as a beacon of excellence in the supermarket sectors across Bataan, Zambales and Pampanga. With a network of 12 branches, including La Vercons Bakeshop and Vercons Trading, the corporation adopts an “Every Day Low Price” (EDLP) strategy. By meticulously managing expenses, the corporation ensures competitive pricing while offering the “V-CARD” loyalty program. This promotion not only rewards loyal customers but infuses vitality into the corporation, allowing patrons to earn points and unlock fabulous rewards.
Adapting to the demands of the modern world, the corporation operates with a sophisticated centralized cloud computing system, providing instant access to vital business information anytime, anywhere.
